Saving lives
You know I'm all about blocking admissions. But tonight this young boy came in with the most swollen nasty purulent balanitis i've ever seen. Some were not impressed, but when it comes to saving the dick of another dude, nothing but the best as far as I am concerned.

Professor Randy Pausch, Carnegie Mellon University
Heartwarming and inspirational. Below is a video clip Prof. Pausch's final lecture. This link is a local news article on his last lesson on life. I found the article to be more touching.

Where are you Fy-Fy?
Fy-Fy and I had ambitious plans to study tonight. We agreed on 7:30 at L'Amyx, the usual site of our studying. I rushed out of clinic at 6:30, ate a quick dinner at home, talked to David for a few minutes and then hurried to L'Amyx so I wouldn't be too late to meet Fy-Fy. The place was packed, I managed to score the last table by the door. I ordered my tea and opened up the Pediatrics in Review. 7:35 became 8:00 then 8:30 and no Fy-Fy to be seen. At 9:15 I packed up and came home. Where are you Fy-Fy?
If anyone else is looking for study buddies or trying to get some inspiration to study for the boards, Tony and I are up for having company. We meet 1-2x/week for an hour or 2. Let us know. Call us!

Life as an Intern
So, I got to relive the glory of intern year as the purple intern last night. I had forgotten the joys of holding the team pager. Best page of the night:
Me: Purple team returning a page
Nurse: Hi, we are missing the first page of the orders.
Me: Well, they are in the computer, just print out another copy
Nurse: I don't know how to do it.
Me: Well, they are in the computer and you need to find a way to print them out. I am not going to rewrite all the orders just so another copy will print out.
Nurse: Okay, I'll figure it out.
I never heard back so I hope she found the orders somewhere. Do the nurses know how to use Meditech?

08-09 Chiefs
Big congrats to Nel, Toby, and Adrianna! Too bad there are only three spots because I could easily think of three more who would be great for the job. Our class rocks!

AIR GUITAR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007 - Ochi Dainoji Yosuke
Another idea for next year's skit. I think Ted, Mike, and Brad should do a song together. I just watched Air Guitar Nation over the weekend and it was awesome. Highly recommend Netflixin it. But, there's plenty on youtube. Search for "C Diddy" and you'll see another master of the art. Ha Ha!

Ghetto Fashion
Out of morbid curiosity I took a detour to Southland Mall in Hayward this weekend on my way to my folks' house in the South Bay. As I was strolling, this store caught my attention. All the bright colors and beautiful patterns! I was like a moth attracted to the light. So this is what the cool ghetto-fabulous children are wearing these days. Hmmm...costumes for prom skit '08? I think Ted would look good in the one with the comic book pattern. Kaboom, Beeyatch!!
