Transcription of JK Rowling's interview on Bloomsbury (publisher) website. I guess it supposedly answers a lot of questions about the last book. Not that I would know since I haven't read any of the books.

The Joys of Res-intern
it's like 130 and I just got paged about some transfer list thing. But the nurse who called me was new and giving me this confused ass garble. I was like are you talking about that med renewal thing? Umm i dunno. Fine just let me talk to charge before I go writing all these orders that I am going to get paged a million times about. So i wait patiently for charge nurse to pick up. I try to start with hey are you guys bugging me about the transfer list, but the biznack cuts me off and starts talking about how she is all full of correct information and how she went to the ass wipe MAR meeting and if I had any questions I should refer to the senior resident.
I am the freaking senior resident! I say in a stern voice.
In the old days my gangasta self would have hauled ass to that nurses station and pooped a deuce on that frumpy MAR loving hag. Man i've really become a softie.

Stanford here I come!!!!
Okay, nothing is official yet, but I am cautiously optimistic. I completed my interview at Stanford for an Adolescent fellowship today. It was really great to see all of the people that I worked with previously when I did my elective at Stanford. Everyone was positive and encouraging, but you never know. I will find out in a week-meanwhile keep your fingers crossed and the positive thoughts flowing this way.

MORE POTTERMANIA
It's 9:30pm and I have finally finished reading harry potter! Don't worry no spoilers, But whenever you guys finish you have to give me a call so we can dish about the book.
Here are my comments:
First 400 pages basically filler, the LAST 400 I was weeping with every turn of the page.
Secondly Snape the most interesting character of the series.
Thirdly ALL those internet spoilers were basically hogwash complete falsehoods!
Lastly the word "bitch" should really be banished from the english language.

The Deathly Hallows
I'm sitting here in the CHO ER at 1:28 AM on my night off...Why in the world could that be? Only Potter mania can drive a resident to such craziness. So after standing in line at Borders in Emeryville I made the trek back to CHO. What did it take? A wandering over at 6pm to "check out the action" only to realize that 120 people had already received their purple wristbands letting them in the first group of people to taste the bliss of the promised land. I, again, was second best and received the silver band. Returned at midnight to have another 100 silver people ahead of me. Too bad for David Gamboa though...ended up in the Blue line... Finally got my book. Then line number 2 for Leslie's book. I was afraid for a moment that I would be empty handed. But to my glee I now had 2 Harry Potters in my hands. Walked out the door and "brrrrriiiiiiiinnnnngggg". Who is calling me...4-2-8, 3-....ah! I know who this is. I connect on my cell..."Where's my Harry Potter?" Sigh...I better run to the hospital STAT. So that brings and ending of my tale for this evening. What lies in store for Harry, Ron, Hermionne, et al? I cannot wait to find out.
PS: It saddens me to know that little children in London have already received and finished their books while Leslie and I are sitting here in the ED just reading the opening lines. Oh well...no sleep for us tonight.
PSS: Yes...I'm a dork. But happiness is geekdom.

Man vs. Wild
This was SO disturbing when I watched it on Discovery Channel. Don't play the video if you get grossed out easily.

Real transformers
Post-overnight shift. Nothing like spending your b-day in the ED. It was a good night, though. No admissions for Marina. Two patients in the last three hours, except the last one needed some MAJOR reassurance (I can't remember how many times I said "spitting up is normal in a one month old"). Didn't help I had a crappy Spanish interpreter who kept interrupting me.
Oh, well. Saw Transformers the other day. I was a big collector and fan, but not this hardcore.
"Autobots, let's roll!"

Reviving CHOwHOUNDS
I think it is about time that we restart CHOwHOUNDS. Two places that we should go: Sushi House in Alameda and Otaez Mexicatessen on International. The Sushi House excursion may need to be a CHOwHOUNDS lite (3rd years only) as they take reservations for the patio but I don't think they can accommodate a huge party. For Otaez, I think we can just storm the doors and take up all the booths prn. What do you guys think?

More Than Meets the Eye
I've decided that vaca really suits me and am deciding if I should renig on my contract. Anyways, the exciting thing is that I returned back from Long Beach last night to be greeted by Leslie at the airport and we had a late night run Cold Stone....mmmmmmm. While in Long Beach I got a chance to see Transformers. Much better than I was expecting and I plan on seeing it again. Ahhhh...those long gone days of weekday afternoon and Saturday morning cartoons.

Brad not happy
Sucks to be on the wards tonight, especially a res-intern. Poor Brad. ED pretty crazy too. I dunno...could it be the upcoming holiday and the PMDs doing more punting than usual?
A kid w/ a strep infection developed anaphylactic shock this afternoon. Five minutes after getting LA bicillin. Crazy shit. She had no chest movements, BP's in the 60's, and GCS of <10. She did okay after getting epi, solumedrol, and fluids. We were so close to intubating. Poor HGH resident. It was his first day and he spent time convincing mom to consent for the PCN. Anyway, it put everyone on edge that night.
I heard that rat movie was awesome. Did anyone else see it? Transformers in two days!!
